Do I need to apply on-line or can I write to the employer directly?

If you are applying on your own behalf you have the option of using this webservice or writing to Sandvik directly.   You will find the appropriate address on the 'contact' page.

 

This is purely a matter of choice for your own convenience and your application will not be treated any differently, irrespective of how your application is received. 

 

Either way your application will be input onto the RecruitPeople system, which we use to log all applications on behalf of Sandvik. 

 

Aside from speed of an on-line application, one other point to consider is that, once you receive an electronic receipt, your application is guaranteed to reach the Sandvik HR team. The UK mail system reportedly mislays in the region of 14million postal items per year.

 

All recruitment agency presentations for opportunities carried by the RecruitPeople Sandvik portal MUST be made via this system.

 

 

Why are recruitment agency presentations treated differently to those in the 'people direct' section?

 

Because some candidates may be registered with several recruitment agencies, we have to have a system which eliminates duplicated presentations.  The Recruiter Present portal provides this.

 

Candidates presented by recruitment agencies are not in any way disadvantaged as is sometimes thought to be the case.  Both RecruitPeople and Sandvik value the contribution of recruitment agencies with the vital link that they provide to the labour market.

 

 

Are these the only current employment opportunities with Sandvik?

Who will handle my application?

 

The initial task of reviewing applications is shared between the RecruitPeople team and the Sandvik human resources team, depending workoad.  All applications ultimatley go to Sandvik. 

 

Depending on the specific opportunity, RecruitPeople may carry out first stage interviews, carry out psychometric or behavioural profiling, or run a selection centre / asessment days.

 

 

Can I speak to someone directly?

 

Yes.  Once your application has been processed, we will let you know who is responsible for the particular opportunity you have applied for.  You will be given that person's contact details by email, togeher with details of the next step.
